Brunch, soccer and dancing

On Saturday we had a well deserved rest day, further exploring Middlebury. It was homecoming weekend, and so there was quite a lot happening and many more visitors than usual. After brunch we headed over to the sports field to watch some soccer in the blazing sunshine.

A square/contra dance was taking place directly across the road from our digs, so of course we had to take a look. There was a live band and a caller so we got stuck in straight away. The dances were quite different from a Scottish Ceilidh and we needed – and received – lots of help from the welcoming regulars.
