A few days in Schmechten
1 March 2012I headed out to stay and work with Bärbel and Günter on the 29th of February… yip, the leap year day!
They live just outside a small village called Schmechten, which is near Bad Driburg. I used a combination of carsharing and train to get there and stayed for a few days, helping out in the garden.
As might be obvious from the photos it was still very much winter! However, I was able to get out for a bike tour and visited some nearby towns, including the castles at Gehrden and Dringenberg.
