Day trip to Erfurt enjoying the sights such as the cathedral and citadel and sampling “Roster”, the local Bratwurst (sausage)
Easy walk from Neustadt am Rennsteig, descending into the valley and passing various small ponds and lakes.
Schneekopf is the second highest peak in the Thüringer Wald, at 978m.
The small village of Vesser was our base in Thüringer Wald. We completed two walks directly from the village (upper Vessertal and lower Vessertal) and there was a guesthouse next door to the holiday flat where we could enjoy food and a beer.
